Nasarawa State Commissioner for Finance, Hajiya Munirat Abdullahi says that the N517.5bn 2026 budget will meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people of the State as well as enhance infrastructural development.
Hajiya Munirat stated this while addressing newsmen shortly after Gov. Sule presented N517.5 billion 2026 budget before members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly today in Lafia.
She said that the 2026 budget represents a strategic consolidation of Gov. Sule’s achievements over the years.
” The 2026 Budget represents a strategic consolidation of His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule’s achievements over the years and a deliberate effort to chart a sustainable path for accelerated development.
She said that the year 2026 budget would take adequate needs of the citizens of the state in the areas of infrastructure, education, science, security, health , agriculture, water, youths and sport development as well as women empowerment among others.
According to her, Infrastructure will aid business activities, connectivities and boost agriculture among others.
” First and Foremost, let me congratulate His Excellency, Engr. A A Sule and the good people of Nasarawa State for successfully presented the 2026 budget before the members of the State House of Assembly .
” The presentation of the 2026 Appropriation Bill of —N517, 539, 050, 910. 77.billion tagged “Budget of Strategic Consolidation will meet up with the yearnings and aspirations of the people of the state.
“The total expenditure budget for fiscal year 2026 is structured into N212,789,330,249.07 only. This represents 41.12% recurrent expenditure.
“And a total capital expenditure of N304,749,720,661.70 representing 58.88%,” she said .
The Commissioner said that the 2026 budget would be funded through Internally Generated Revenue, FAAC and other sources.
She assured of the ministry’s continued commitment to ensure transparency and accountability.
Hajiya Munirat also called on the people of the state to continue to support Gov. Sule’s administration to succeed.
