Ms Chinenye Monde-Anumihe, Head, Partnerships, Programmes and Media of National Assembly (NASS) Library Resource Centre, has commended the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter for the donation of book to enrich the library’s collections on public relations.
Monde-Anumihe gave the commendation on Thursday when chapter paid a visit to the library to donate the books.
She said the donation donation of the specific books on public relations to the NASS Library would be of the benefits to both the lawmakers and the general public.
“We welcome the donation of public relations books and are grateful. I want to assure you that we will not take your gesture for granted.
“We have thousands of books in our shelves and are looking forward to creating a shelve for the Public Relations specific books we have received today.
“So, we appreciate and say thank you to NIPR FCT Chapter for this very generous donation and offer,” she said.
Responding, the Chairman of NIPR FCT Chapter, Mr Stanley Ogadigo, said the donation was part of the chapter’s 35th anniversary celebration activities.
Ogadigo added that the donation also part of giving back to the society.
“We are most delighted to be here, because, the NASS Eis a mini Nigeria, the same way the NIPR Chapter of the FCT is a mini Nigeria, because, FCT is the Center of Unity. FCT houses every part of Nigeria.
“This is one of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects that we have mapped out for this programme.
“We have representatives from every part of Nigeria, and have decided that when we deposit these quality public relations books here, they are going to make more impacts.
“This, also is a part of deepening the knowledge on the profession and for the lawmakers to be able to know what the profession stands for. That is basically reputation building and management,” Ogadigo said.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the team took a tour of the NASS Library.
Ogadigo said, ” the NASS Library to me is top-notch, and initiatives we have seen are very much in line with modern realities”. (NAN)
