UNILAG alumni honours CJN, Olanipekun, Momoh, others

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) Alumni Association, will at its 55th alumni anniversary dinner, honour some distinguished alumni and Nigerians who have contributed to the development of the institution and society.

This is contained in a statement by Mr Funmi Falobi, National Publicity Secretary of the alumni and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Abuja, on Monday.

Falobi quoted the alumni President Worldwide and chief host of the event, Mr IfeOluwa Oyedele, as saying that the occasion would be a landmark event celebrating excellence, camaraderie, and impactful contributions.

Oyedele said that the event would bring together distinguished alumni, faculty members, and notable stakeholders and recognise individuals who have made significant contributions to the university’s development and societal progress.

According to him, the anniversary dinner will feature a series of prestigious awards, including the Alumni Platinum, Distinguished Alumni, and Lifetime Achievement, which will be conferred on the chosen personalities.

‘The honourees are Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, Chief Justice of Nigeria, Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, Pro-chancellor & Chairman of Council, University of Lagos, Dr John Momoh, Chairman of Channels Media Group,  Chief Tunde Fanimokun, Life Director, Folawiyo Group, and Sir Chief Kessington Adebutu, CFR.

Others are Sen. Opeyemi Bamidele, Senate Majority Leader, Mrs Esther Didi Wilson-Jack, Head of Service of the Federation, Chief Bayo Ojo, SAN, HRM (Prof) Epiphany Azinge, the Asagba of Asaba, Mr Kola Adesina and Chief (Mrs) Folasade Okoya.’’

He said that the event which will hold on Oct, 17, at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, would also be graced by royal fathers, academia, captains of industry, and the creme de la creme of the society.

He added Vice President Kashim Shettima, is expected as the Special Guest of Honour; while Olor’ogun Sonny Kuku, the Ogbeni-Oja of Ijebuland also a recipient would be the Chairman of the occasion.
