The Commander Corps of Supply and Transport (CCST) of the Nigerian Army, Maj.-Gen. Emmanuel Anaryu, has stressed the need for timely and realistic logistics feedback to sustain ongoing operations in the North East.
Anaryu made the call on Saturday during a familiarisation visit to the Headquarters of the Joint Task Force (JTF) North East, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in Maiduguri. He was received by the Theatre Commander, Maj.-Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar.
The CCST said logistics remained the backbone of every military operation, adding that synergy between the Corps and the Theatre Command was vital to maintaining successes recorded in the fight against insurgency.
He explained that his visit was to obtain first-hand information on the logistics needs of the theatre and interface directly with field commanders to proffer effective solutions.
Anaryu urged commanders to prioritise troops’ welfare and morale in line with the “Soldiers Come First” policy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede.
He also assured that steps would be taken to address identified challenges, including shortage of trained drivers and the provision of standard sheds for operational vehicles.
In his response, the Theatre Commander, Maj.-Gen. Abubakar, lauded the CCST for its support to Operation HADIN KAI, and pledged continued cooperation in logistics, training and operations.
He further commended the Corps for the quality of officers deployed to the theatre, describing their contributions as critical to the mission’s success.

The visit featured an interactive session with field commanders, a presentation on OPHK’s operational activities, exchange of souvenirs and a group photograph.
