President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Usman Alkali Baba as the Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP).

According to the Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi, the appointment takes immediate effect.

Dingyadi unveiled the Acting IGP’s appoiniment while speaking with State House Correspondents at the Presidential vila, Abuja on Tuesday.

On February 4, 2021, the President hadunceremoniously extended for three months the tenure of Mohammed Adamu as the IGP.
