The House of Representatives Committee on Health has commended the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Jabi, Prof. Ahmed Saad, for ensuring effective implementation of 2020 capital projects at the centre.
The Chairman of the committee, Rep. Pascal Obi, gave the commendation on Wednesday. in Abuja, when they visited the centre on an oversight function to assess the level of development at the facility.
” We are also here to know the challenges faced by the center, so as to be able to stand in the gap for necessary interventions. This is because it is our duty to make sure government funds organisations adequately.
“I want to commend Saad for his efforts at ensuring rapid development of the center, in spite of the fact that he is barely one year in the office,” Obi said.
Responding, Saad appreciated Obi and team for coming to check on the centre.
” For the 2020 capital projects, we were able to purchase and install endoscopy and dialysis machine, building of administrative block project, solar power and many others,” the CMD said.
Saad restated his commitment to continue implementing projects at the centre that would impact positively on the lives and health of Nigerians.
He stressed that with the level of support from the National Assembly and the Presidency, the Centre would continue to deliver on its mandate.
