Rev. Jide Akiode, Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Region 10 in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has admonished men not to abandon parental responsibilities in the bid to make ends meet.
Akiode made the call on Saturday at the ongoing 2023 Men’s Convention holding at RCCG Desire Nation Parish in Jabi, Abuja.
The convention’s theme – ‘Unlocking God’s Blessings’ – was chosen to educate men on ways to use untapped potential for development.
The cleric said that the high moral decadence and youth restiveness in the society could be attributed to lapses in parental responsibilities.
“No matter the situation of the economy, men should provide for their families and train their children to fear God.
“Men must entrench Christian values and raise Godly children for society to change for the better,” he said.
In his remarks, Rev. Mike Ayanbode, Pastor of RCCG FCT 5, stressed the need for men to adjust their financial obligations in view of the present situation in the country.
Ayanbode admonished men to hold on to God as the supernatural provider, expressing hope that things would come back to normal in the country soon.
Also, Rev. Paul Adebisi, the Regional Coordinator of the Abuja Redeemer Men Fellowship, said that the convention provided another opportunity for the Church to remind men of their responsibilities to the family and the Church.
Adebisi said that experts from different fields had been invited to lecture men on ways to cope with the economic situation and ensure healthy living in the family.
