The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) says the 2024 Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF) will address critical areas that drive business growth.
Prof. Adesoji Adesugba, First Deputy President of ACCI said this at a media briefing to herald the fair on Thursday in Abuja.
“By exploring mobility options in transportation, businesses can reduce logistical challenges, enhance supply chain efficiency, and lower operational costs, all of which are vital for growth.
“In today’s interconnected world, mobility is a key driver of the global economy, influencing trade, finance, and taxation in profound ways.
“AITF 2024 aims to provide a platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and collaboration.
“Bringing together experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to chart a path toward a more efficient, sustainable, and innovative future for mobility,” he said.
According to Adesugba, the fair will also address the need for sustainable financing and taxation strategies, particularly in light of challenges such as limited access to credit and the complexities of multiple taxation.
“The AITF continues to be a gathering point for entrepreneurs and service providers from both national and international markets.
“This year, we expect to host over 500 exhibitors showcasing more than 10,000 products, solutions, and services to nearly 100,000 attendees over the course of 12 days,” he said.
The deputy president expressed the ACCI’s commitment to promote small businesses while recognising their vital role in driving the national economy, job creation, and overall prosperity.
Adesugba said the AITF 2024 would feature a range of products and solutions developed by its partners and exhibitors in fintech, tax collection, payment systems, sustainable transportation, food processing, and environmental safety.
According to him, this focus aligns with the Chamber’s commitment to supporting a sustainable economy and urban living.
He said that the fair offered a unique platform for businesses to interact directly with regulatory bodies, enabling them to receive crucial information and resolve any concerns on the spot.
Adesugba listed some exciting features that would be available at the fair to include panel sessions, 12-day free jollof rice, kids’ corner, spin-and-win contests, fashion runway shows, and more.
While recognising the prevailing economic challenges in the country, Adesugba said Nigerians must be mindful that there is no country without ups and down times.
According to him, things will get better in the country.
Meanwhile, the 2nd Deputy President of ACCI and Chairman of the 19th AITF Committee, Dr Aliyu Hong, urged Nigerians to endeavour to be part of the fair.
“This is an opportunity that all should be encouraged to come and be a part of, as we have local producers and international exhibitors coming in.
“Exhibitors have shown intention and many have already booked their stand, and we are hopeful that the prices of items will also be considerable.
“The fair will hold from Sept. 20 to Oct. 1, at the Abuja Trade and Convention Centre, beside Shoprite, Airport road, Lugbe, Abuja,” he said.
