The Benue Police Command on Thursday said the State Government will sponsor fireworks display on Dec. 31st to usher in 2024.

This is contained in a statement signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Sewuese Anene in Makurdi.

According to Anene, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr George Chuku, stated that there would be a Government sponsored fireworks display on 31st Dec. 31st  into 1st Jan. 1st , 2024 at the roundabout beside Dexters Eatery, Low Level, Makurdi.

The statement further stated that the fireworks were part of the activities put in place for the New Year celebration.

“The CP has ordered the deployment of Police officers within the area during the display.

He urged  people to go about their duties without fear or panic as the environment will be secured and under control.”
